Dr. John Connolly has come to research in Autism by way of his work using brain imaging/monitoring techniques to study cognitive function in non-communicative brain-injured patients. He has been testing non-verbal Autistic children for several years. As in brain injury cases, the electroencephalogram (EEG) data from diagnosed Autistic children indicate cognitive functioning above expectations.
